What: A unique tutorial for entrepreneurs, led by Professor Michael Cummings of Babson College. Startup 101 will consist of a presentation by Prof. Cummings, followed by Q&A.  After Startup 101, stick around for TiE’s monthly networking event for entrepreneurs: Startup on Tap.

Who: Professor Cummings is the founder of LTC Group, a Massachusetts corporation that owns and operates long-term care facilities. In addition, Cummings founded Health Force of Fall River, a provider of in-home nursing services. Cummings also founded Image Scan, a manufacturer of industrial bar code labels and related identification products. After selling Image Scan in 1999, Cummings was the United States General Manager of Tyco Identification Products from 1999 to 2001. Prior to founding LTC Group, Cummings was a financial analyst for General Foods Corporation and American Tourister Luggage. Dr. Cummings’s research interests center around public policy issues that impact the Massachusetts Health Care industry as they relate to organizational performance and survival.
