Position: Team Area Marketing Manager
Where: Seattle
What: The Switch Team Area Marketing Manager (TAMM) is responsible for driving Muscle Milk’s sampling efforts within a specific geographic area. This includes the development and day to day strategic management and execution of a consumer education sampling program. The position objectives are to build Muscle Milk awareness, create consumer trial and build heavy usage for Muscle Milk with targeted consumers. The position reports into a local market area Brand Area Marketing Manager (BAMM).
Responsibilities: This position is the first line manager responsible for the strategic execution and day to day management of Muscle Milk’s Protein Education Sampling Team in a specific market area, responsibilities include:
Sampling Team Management and Strategy Program Execution
- Recruit, hire and train a team of 6 to 8 Protein Trainers
- Drive new user Muscle Milk trial
- Coach sampling team to reinforce best practices and create A+ consumer interactions
- Produce strategic daily consumer interaction plans that create strong one-on-one consumer education opportunities around key Muscle Milk usage occasions within defined brand strategy
- Develop team collaboration in the planning and execution of sampling plans and strategic sampling interactions
- Establish strong relationships with Muscle Milk college ambassadors in order to drive quality and strategic sampling on college campuses
- Build a network of market contacts and influencers that provide strategic sampling opportunities
- Active participation in sampling shifts — 10-12 hours per week
- Development of tools and program that focus on team motivation and team building
Area Marketing Support
- Assists BAMM with planning and resource allocation against supported events and programs
- Attends local market events to support team and event sampling effort
- Conducts local product influencer support system as designed by BAMM with proper lead-time
- Actively drives successful market-specific social media initiatives in accordance with brand strategy
- Support BAMM in all other areas as needed
Sales & Marketing Integration
- Identify & support sales opportunities as strategically defined
- Support & create sampling programs that are integrated with sales and distribution partners that help drive Muscle Milk distribution and consumer sales
- With direction from local market BAMM, actively participate in meetings with local sales team and distributor to align sampling executions and communicate best practices
- Coordinate sampling team to help with retail merchandising when and where needed
- Assists BAMM and with retail program activation and in-store activation, including promotional sampling events and POS placement
Operations and Administration
- Work in conjunction with Sampling Quarterback to insure top quality sampling program execution
- Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly recaps and reports for tracking, ROI and ROO analysis to meet market and national needs
- Manages logistics and maintenance of marketing warehouse
- Monitor and schedule marketing vehicle maintenance
- Implement and maintain accuracy of marketing inventory
- Order and forecast market product needs in line with planned market activity
- Responsible for delivery of an on budget sampling program
- Proactive communication to BAMM on challenges and opportunities

- Deliver the execution of sampling programs that resonate brand values with targeted consumers
- Active participation in local market social media efforts and their successful impact on consumer
- Effectively integrate sampling efforts with sales team
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years successful management experience
- 4 year college degree preferred
- Clean Driving Record
- Experience in grassroots and brand marketing executions
- Strong understanding and knowledge of local market geography, athletic scenes and fitness trends
- Strong understanding of social media — Facebook and Twitter are a must
- Exceptional communication skills, including presenting and training abilities
- Strong planning and project management skills
- Ability to build a team environment

- Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
