What: If you’re a strong web software engineer, with a solid computer science background and a passion for responsive web application development, this is a great role for you – building complex HTML5 web applications to run on mobile and desktop systems, with an eye towards a simple and fluid user experience.
One favorite client, a big-enough-but-not-too-big company that’s recently opened up a Seattle office and has started building an amazing engineering team, is looking for a senior software engineer to be responsible for client-side mobile and web development. You’ll be meeting real customer needs and seeing people use your systems, and work with smart, fun software architects, developers, and designers on building their next-gen systems.
Responsibilities:
- Technically design and deliver great client-side web experiences for mobile and desktop clients, using HTML5/CSS/Javascript
- Integrate with core systems across the company, including web service APIs and deployment environments
- Work closely with middle-tier and back-end engineers to design a full-stack solution to key business problems
- Partner with the user experience design team to make sure ideas are implementable in an efficient, cross-browser-friendly way
- Develop within an agile development environment and deliver as needed
- 2+ years experience doing client-side web application development, with specific experience in either responsive web design using HTML5 or mobile-specific web applications: assume we’ll want to see your applications and code (as you can show it)
- 2+ years experience in other commercial software development projects, using an OO-like language (C++, C#, Java, etc.) – more is definitely better
- Proven track record shipping great web applications to desktop and mobile (ideally including iOS/Android, either web or native)
- Strong communication skills, play well with others, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS strongly preferred, equivalent considered
