Position: Senior Software Engineer
Where: Seattle (Pioneer Square)
What: Sesame Communications is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to lead design, development, and documentation of new and existing software systems and/or applications that serve millions of users! This position also serves as technical expert on development projects, participates in the full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design, producing technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. The Senior Software Engineer analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs as needed. This position participates in and leads design meetings. The Senior Software Engineer is also responsible for maintaining best coding practices and mentoring more junior developers in those practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead small development teams through full lifecycle application development
- Design, code and debug applications in various software languages
- Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis
- Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD)
- Work with QA to tune performance (DB queries, service configuration, etc.)
- Support, maintain and document software functionality
- Integrate software with existing systems
- Maintain standards compliance (HIPAA, PCI)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, computers or related area, or a relevant combination of experience and education
- 7-10 years application development experience in a fast-paced SaaS environment (Java, Hibernate, Jetty, Guice, Perl, Reporting, Web Services, MySQL)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hosting applications in AWS
- Experience scaling large notification systems
