aigaWebcast: Strategic Design for Nonprofits, AIGA Voices

When:  Thursday, October, 31, 2013, 11:00 a.m

What: Many designers appreciate that by working with nonprofit organizations they might be able to combine their passion for design with a chance to “do good.” And nonprofits need strategic design partners more than ever. Kim Baer, principal of Los Angeles-based design firm KBDA, will share some best practices (and some of the challenges) of working with nonprofit cultural or social services organizations.

Who: Kim Baer, principal and founder of Los Angeles–based design studio KBDA

Kim is principal and founder of Los Angeles–based design studio KBDA. She developed an early interest in graphic design as a way to integrate two passions: helping organizations find their voice, and celebrating the ways smart visual solutions can make people sit up and take notice. The firm’s client list ranges from global, consumer-oriented companies such as Nike, Nissan and Hyatt Hotels to nonprofit organizations such as the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, Inner-City Arts, and the LA Philharmonic. In 2004, Baer was named an AIGA Fellow by AIGA Los Angeles, in honor of her service and achievement. She currently serves on the AIGA national board.
