What: The worldwide pioneer in the creation of interactive entertainment, Nintendo Co., Ltd., of Kyoto, Japan, manufactures and markets hardware and software for its Wii U™ and Wii™ home consoles, and Nintendo 3DS™ and Nintendo DS™ families of portable systems.
Responsibilities:
- user experience lead will be responsible for the UI architecture, interaction and visual design, and usability of properties in Nintendo’s online portfolio. The position requires someone with creativity and an analytical and detail-oriented mind.
- Collaborate with producers, visual/interaction designers, and voice of customer lead to advocate for the best design for our customers
- Design solutions that meet measurable business objectives
- Lead, define, and communicate the UX direction using appropriate tools such as sketches, workflows, wireframes, interaction specifications
- Create user-centered designs by considering site analytics, customer feedback, and usability findings
- Drive optimal experiences, measured in terms of usability, intuitiveness, consistency, time to market, and ultimately, business success metrics.
- Critique other creative work, offering direction for improving quality, consistency or strategy
- Advocate industry standards and user-centric design principals and champion innovative techniques and solutions
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a user experience, interaction or visual designer for the web
- Understanding of information architecture, web accessibility, UI, interaction and visual design best practices, limitations and constraints of front-end presentation principals and browser limitations.
- Ability to create wireframes and clickable prototypes with a variety of design and prototyping tools such as
- Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Visio, Axure, Omnigraffle, etc.
- An online portfolio or sample of work demonstrating experience creating user-centered design solutions, information architecture, wireframes, etc.
- Understanding of the capabilities of CSS3, HTML5, and Javascript.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent
