Position: Merchandising Specialist, Consumer Electronics

What: Amazon.com’s Consumer Electronics team is looking for a bright, enthusiastic, hard-working, and creative candidate to join our merchandising team. The Merchandising Specialist position offers an exciting introduction to our on-line retail business and a broad training ground for future success. This role will work directly with multiple internal teams, including Inventory Management, Vendor Management, and Site Merchandising on a key manufacturer’s product line. The Merchandising Specialist will develop skills and work across all three functional areas to grow and improve their vendor’s success at Amazon.
Responsibilities: In addition to numerous cataloging and editing tasks, the Merchandising Specialist will schedule, update, and produce content on Amazon.com’s product detail pages and category pages. He or she will also help with numerous marketing and email efforts, creation of site promotions and analysis of their effectiveness, and make recommendations on marketing plans; plus, be proactive in negotiating promotional opportunities for the vendor — autonomously. On the inventory side, the merchandising specialist will monitor and track in-coming purchase orders to ensure timely receipt of goods and help maintain product purchase forecasts. The Merchandising Specialist works directly with one key vendor and at the end of the day, your contributions will have a major impact on the vendor’s success on Amazon.com.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, superior multi-tasker, great at meeting multiple deadlines, and comfortable with a varied set of software and editing tools (including HTML, Excel and Access). This position also requires excellent presentation, organization, and account management skills. Experience in marketing or e-commerce merchandising is essential to your success. BA/BS degree required.
