What: This month’s topic is Smart Cities. Seattle-area resident Jesse Berst, Chairman of the Smart Cities Council, will introduce us to the technologies and strategies that are being used by businesses and government agencies to improve the livability, workability and sustainability of cities around the world. Where does Seattle rank as a “smart city”? Find out from Jesse on January 20th. Who: Jesse Berst has had a very interesting career. He was a high-profile technology analyst and editor in the 1990s, and became the go-to expert on “smart grids” in the electric utility industry in the 2000s, and then helped found and build the Smart Cities Council. During Jesse’s program, we’ll have the opportunity to discuss with him how he made these career transitions.
