DeLapp Design is an award winning web design and branding firm They’re looking for a personable, problem-solving techie to join the team. They’re a small but quickly growing group, so you’ll be able to get involved in many aspects of the company.
You don’t need to know everything. If you have a good attitude, basic technical skills, and an interest in learning, they can teach you the rest. This is a 20 hour per week (flexible schedule) paid internship that is expected to grow to an offer for a full-time position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities: The Web Development Intern is responsible for entry-level web development tasks, including converting web designs into functional sites, and edits to existing websites. Internal training covers many of the basic tasks. An ideal candidate is also learning about web dev technologies on their own time (school, online courses, etc.). As a member of the front-line of DeLapp Design’s support system, this intern will be responsible for responding to questions or concerns that clients have with their sites, and addressing or assigning the tasks required to resolve any issues. This role will also assist the Lead Developer with non-support web development tasks. Clear and supportive communication skills are a must.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Basic understanding of web server technologies
- Experience working with WordPress-powered websites
- Enjoy helping people out
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, especially with websites and related technologies
Bonus Qualities:
- Additional WordPress knowledge (updating, migrating, troubleshooting)
- Experience with versioning software, such as Git
- Knowledge of Javascript, and an interest in learning more
- Familiarity with responsive design
- Comfortable working within Photoshop
