Position: Site Reliability Engineer
Where: Kirkland
What: We are currently seeking a Service Reliability Engineer for our Kirkland, WA office.
As a SWAT engineer, you represent BitTitan’s first line of defense running the largest migration platform in the world 24/7, 365 days a year.
As a member of this elite team, you are responsible for responding to all emergencies / code defects / regressions. You are responsible for quickly identifying root causes, and providing corrective action (including specific code fixes, edge case handling, bug fixing, minor improvement, etc.).
Responsibilities:
Very efficiently debug C# multithreaded code
Quickly grasp complex code written by other developers
Have the discipline to reproduce issues to methodically improve the quality of our solutions
Be ready to respond to critical issues
Implement code fixes while working with the development team to find the most optimal solution
Have the ability to provide frequent, clear updates to support engineers so that they can relay status to customers
Be able to handle complex software working in a distributed environment
Requirements:
Energetic personality
3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s in science or engineering preferred
Solid written English skills
Strong software design aptitude
Deep troubleshooting skills (ex: packet sniffing, debugging, etc.)
Ability to work at all levels of the stack (database, back-end, front-end)
Familiarity with DNS, email systems, etc.
Experience with strongly typed object-oriented programming (C#, Java)
Working with technologies across the Microsoft stack including ASP.NET MVC, LINQ and SQL Server
Be self-Driven
Experience working in a startup environment
Email technology expertise (ex: email routing, email migration, anti-spam, etc.)
Track record of shipping scalable, efficient code
Knowledge of advanced algorithms and techniques (ex: code profiling)
