Pixvana is a Seattle-based software startup building a Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) video processing and delivery platform for media and entertainment applications. Pixvana’s founders have proven startup success in media technology and hail from senior product and engineering leadership positions at Apple, Adobe, Microsoft, Lucasfilm, and RedGiant.
The company is backed by major Seattle investors and high profile executives in entertainment and media. We are looking for big brain engineering talent to join us in our quest to crush pixels and make the rules for video delivery in the VR era.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Frontend developer/ designer to join our newly forming team. You will work directly with the Founders and will have technical and creative freedom to identify and pursue the solution you feel will work best given the requirements of the project. You have a inhuman skill at finding the balance between lovely designed UI and a sublime of level of usability. You can go from a blank doc in PhotoShop to a shipping moment of user astonishment on the web.
Design and develop the UIs for our creative professional tools in the big three CSS3, HTML5, and Javascript
Running Krug like user testing
Ensuring that the balance between the frontend and backend processing choices scalable yet lovely
Keeping abreast and developing UI idioms for virtual reality
Work collaboratively with other engineers and product managers to bring new features and services into production.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience on consumer products
Deep understanding of various javascript frameworks
An unnatural ability to debug from the frontend to the backend
Knowledgeable of computer graphics, video and audio programming
Ability to clearly evangelise and explain your design decisions verbally and in writing.
An overriding desire to create beautiful tools for creative professionals
Bonus charisma and agility points for native mobile development experience
