What: What if you could help end a disease for good? At PATH’s 2016 Breakfast for Global Health, you’ll hear from the front lines of disease elimination—where history is being written for polio, malaria, and other diseases, thanks to technology innovation and partnerships between Seattle institutions and countries around the world.

This year’s special guests include:
• Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Laurie Garrett, best-selling author of The Coming Plague and Betrayal of Trust and one of America’s most trusted speakers on global health and infectious disease. Laurie will share her insights on recent epidemics, including the Ebola and Zika crises.
• Steve Davis, PATH president and CEO. Mr. Davis will highlight the role of local innovation in responding to both long-standing challenges and emergent epidemic disease.
• Nanthalile Mugala, director of PATH’s Zambia program. A leader in Zambia’s race to eliminate malaria, Dr. Mugala will speak to the challenges of tracking and treating the elusive disease—and how data and new technologies are changing the game.

A signature event in the Puget Sound region’s global health community, the Breakfast for Global Health spotlights innovation in health technology and delivery tailored for the developing world. Attendance is free; gifts made during the event benefit PATH’s work in more than 70 countries around the world.

The 2016 Breakfast for Global Health is held in Bellevue on May 10 and in Seattle on May 13.
