When: Thursday, July 14, 2016,

Where: Women’s University Club, 1105 Sixth Avenue, Seattle

What: Join the Women’s Business Exchange for breakfast as Sue Taoka shares insights gained from more than 30 years building thriving communities.

Thriving businesses are essential to thriving communities. In addition to economic opportunity, small businesses provide the character, feel, and culture that define a community’s essence. Sue Taoka’s mission at Craft3 (a nonprofit community development financial institution) is to figure out how to support and strengthen small businesses in the Pacific Northwest. Craft3 makes loans and provides “capital plus” to entrepreneurs in both for- and nonprofit sectors. Sue and her team at Craft3 deliver essential resources needed for small business growth, and thus community growth and stability. With more than $380 million dollars loaned to date, Craft3 supports a triple bottom line approach to lending: economic opportunity, social equity, and environmental sustainability.

Join WBE for breakfast as Sue shares insights gained from more than 30 years building thriving communities and businesses that will expand our ability to:

  • Build a community based business and mindset.
  • Create a community that supports its members.

Sue will pose questions that support a more mindful approach to thriving in the communities where we live and work.

Cool fact: Sue was instrumental in bringing Taiko drumming to Seattle.
