Tech Doc Fest 2018 Kicks Off with Cyborg Documentaries and a Red Carpet Party at The Factory Luxe, February 1-3, 2018

Produced by Seattle Transmedia & Independent Film Festival (STIFF), Tech Doc Fest intersects arts, culture, education and storytelling with technology.
Opening night kicks off with feature documentary Cyborgs Among Us followed by short doc Cyborgs; Should We Be Better Than We Are, whose director and special guest Victoria Sutton will speak about the legal Issues involving bodyhacking.
Tech Doc Talks: guests will dive into documentary storytelling tactics and the creative process with visiting filmmakers. In addition to Sutton, STEM high school student/drone filmmaker Mathias Yun Hao Foster, UW Professor Faisal Hossain (producer, Cotton Fields from the Ivory Tower) and Jose Garcia (director, Detective X) will share insights.
Filmmaker MasterClass: Visiting filmmaker Philip Shane, whose short documentary ReWalk showcases paralyzed veterans learning to move with assistance of a revolutionary technology, will present a free masterclass on directing and editing documentary films. Shane co-directed and edited Being Elmo, winner of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival Special Jury prize.
