One of the biggest challenges in supporting a community of over two billion people is preventing negative experiences such as harassment or bullying, account abuse, or the spread of harmful content on the platform. In this talk, Joe will give an introduction to the Community Integrity team at Facebook and the research team within it. They are a passionate, diverse group of researchers who focus on making their products a safer, more inclusive place. He’ll describe how they leverage qualitative and quantitative methods, cross-cultural research, and experimentation to effect change along a number of dimensions such as product and policy.
