What: Expedia World Wide is seeking a passionate and talented Sr. Web Producer to help its Global Design and User Experience team bring fast-paced innovation to market in the competitive e-commerce travel space through your top-notch, front-end code coding skills.
It’s a given that this front-end web technologist can produce fast, effective markup, using standards-compliant, semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. More importantly, the ideal candidate is a creative problem solver, collaborator and mentor. You will be expected to be the go-to person for your projects to assure proper coding practices and leveraging of site frameworks. You will work closely with business stakeholders and user experience designers to assure the quality and efficiency of solutions. You should be able to help mentor and teach junior technical producers as well as educate designers on approaches and technique that make front-end solutions more efficient and effective.
Responsibilities: Establish efficient standards-compliant XHTML and CSS in both static and dynamic web environments. Produce DOM-based, object-oriented, unobtrusive JavaScript and XML. Participate in code review and inter-department best practices learning. Collaboration with visual designers, information architects, and backend developers on front-end impacts and process efficiencies. Documenting guidelines and standards to support ongoing need.
Requirements: 4 year college degree or equivalent experience.
Core Competencies:
• Advanced knowledge of standards-compliant HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML/XSLT.
• Experience with web-development environments and dynamic publishing systems
• Experience with source control, Perforce or VSS.
