Communications Education in the Social Media Age: Can Johnny and Susie Still Right Write?

What: Are today’s colleges putting too much emphasis on technological training and related skills at the expense of basic communication concepts such as reading, writing and public speaking? Join the Association for Women in Communications Seattle Professional Chapter for a panel discussion about this concern and its implications for our future. Panelists include Karen Rathe, University of Washington; Mara Adelman, Seattle University; Patti Jones, Shoreline Community College; Shauna Causey, Google’s Ant’s Eye View; Daniel Whitney, Microsoft; and Nicole Breitenstein, intern with Orthopedic Reconstructive Total Joint.
