With a New, “Ferry-Close” Location, Custom-Designed Building, and Interactive Web Site, KiDiMu, the Kids Discovery Museum of Bainbridge Island, Wash., Clicks With Kids of All Ages
The perfect Puget Sound day trip? A Washington State Ferry practically pulls up to its front door. Imaginative? The new building has been designed from the ground up to include exhibits like a two-story tree house, and floors of innovative attractions. User-friendly? The new Web site makes it a breeze to plan your trip and let your fingers discover the fun, including birthday parties and the KiDiMu Summer Camp.
The new “KiDiMu” Kids Discovery Museum on Bainbridge Island has been reimagined and reinvented, both at its new “gateway” location at the “on ramp” to Bainbridge Island, just steps away from the ferry dock, and at its new, virtual location online at www.kidimu.org.
“Our new Web site allows KiDiMu to continue the transformation begun by the opening of our new building,” said Executive Director Susan Sivitz. “It enables us to communicate with our visitors on a more immediate, personal level. We’re especially excited by the ability to highlight our supporters: members, corporate sponsors, volunteers and donors.” The site’s new “Appreciation Station” reaches out to recognize member families with Member Moment, volunteers with Volunteer Vibes, and to thank community partners with Sponsor Spotlight.
Regular sections of the Bainbridge Island Children’s Museum site include KiDiMu and YoU!, KiDiNews, KiDiPREVIEWS and KiDiMUSE, highlighting announcements, special events and a kid’s point of view about KiDiMu. Video and photo galleries as well as activity downloads are available. Visitors can also sign up for the electronic newsletter or learn about the summer camp program online. Patrons are encouraged to send photos and videos of their visit to KiDiMu via e-mail to be posted in the online gallery.
The Web site was designed by Troutdream Graphics of Redmond, Wash., in association with SearchWrite of Bainbridge Island. KiDiMu can also be found on a KiDiMu Facebook page and a KiDiMu Twitter page.
