Position: Social Media Manager

What:  Wetpaint is looking for a smart, innovative, strategic thinker to drive our social distribution system across many of the most important channels today — Facebook, Twitter and more! The role — Social Media Manager — will primarily focus on driving a larger and more engaged audience around Wetpaint’s branded social media channels. This will include both day to day management of our more developed platforms on Facebook and Twitter, while also experimenting with exploratory channels and building a new program with sites like Google+, Pinterest and a ton of others that have great potential. The position will be that of player and coach, including working directly with a small marketing team while also taking on large strategic project and implementing new tests independently. Responsibilities:
1. Manage strategic programs across several social channels
• Oversee execution of distribution program on Facebook with more than 1.5M fans
• Partner on the development of Facebook advertisements and execute campaigns
• Develop fan acquisition and innovative experiments on Facebook that will supply a new wave of growth
• Work directly with others on creating a program for Twitter that allows Wetpaint to reach the most influential tweeters of the day

2. Discover new channel opportunities
• Create a plan of attack for new channel exploration that includes developing a list of potential channels and analyzing their expected value
• Implement experiments within several innovative areas and collect data that informs our social media strategy
• Analyze results of experiments and help define where Wetpaint should invest to meet the social generation where they are going next

Requirements:
1. Highly analytical — having a strong desire to know the numbers and dig deeper for insights is important

6. Ability to build a program from scratch — being able to think through the details while also seeing the big picture and making important decisions will be paramount for this role
7. Creative thinker — the answers are rarely written anywhere, and we’re not happy to just take what others think is the right path anyway.

1-2 years of strategy, business analysis or marketing experience required. Previous experience managing teams is preferred, along with a desire to be on the cutting edge of digital media.
