June 08, NWEN Breakfast Buzz: Kickstarter Does Relaunch – Shadowrun Returns

Take a detour to the 80’s, when Jordan Weisman and a team of gamers at Freedonia Aeronautics & Space Administration (FASA) created a successful role-playing board game, Shadowrun. This was one of many games that Jordan has successfully launched over his gaming career, which has spanned decades. He has bootstrapped his way to start-up success and raised millions in venture financing.
Present day: Re-launch of the Shadowrun franchise as a videogame
So what enticed this serial entrepreneur to choose the Kickstarter crowd-funding route to re-launch the Shadowrun franchise with Shadowrun Returns? He was certainly successful – 36K backers, $1.8M+ pledged of $400K goal. Jordan will share the risks and rewards of crowd funding as seen through his eyes.
