Microsoft Introduces A New Class of Windows PCs designed for AI:  Copilot+ PC.

After a three year hiatus, the Microsoft Build Conference returned to the physical realm last week in order to introduce the most distributed AI experience on a computer. The groundbreaking innovation that promises to redefine the personal computing experience is an entirely new class of computer — the Windows AI PC, dubbed CoPilot Plus. 

This next-generation device is not just an upgrade in hardware; it embodies a shift towards a more intelligent, integrated, and user-centric computing paradigm. 

Microsoft has completely reimagined the entirety of the PC – from silicon to the operating system, the application layer to the cloud – with AI at the center, marking the most significant change to the Windows platform in decades.  

Copilot+ PC Outside the Box

As a refresher, a free CoPilot account is available to use Copilot on the web and in Windows, macOS, and iPadOS. Try out CoPilot or the image generating Designer online.

New Copilot+ PC Hardware from Microsoft Surface and Partners

Team Microsoft has worked with each of its top OEMs — Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung — and of course Surface, to bring new Copilot+ PCs that will begin to launch on June 18. Starting at $999, these devices are up to $200 less than similar spec’d devices.

The first-ever Copilot+ PCs from Surface are groundbreaking and christened Surface Pro and Surface Laptop.  On the PC side of the house, we will see the following:

  • AcerAcer’s Swift 14 AI 2.5K touchscreen enables you to draw and edit your vision with greater accuracy and with color-accurate imagery. Launch and discover AI-enhanced features, like Acer PurifiedVoice 2.0 and Purified View, with a touch of the dedicated AcerSense button.

  • LenovoLenovo is launching two AI PCs: one built for consumers, Yoga Slim 7x, and one for commercial, ThinkPad T14s Gen 6. The Yoga Slim 7x brings efficiency for creatives, featuring a 14.5” touchscreen with 3K Dolby Vision and optimized power for 3D rendering and video editing. The T14s Gen 6 brings enterprise-level experiences and AI performance to your work tasks, with features including a webcam privacy shutter, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and up to 64GB RAM.
  • Samsung: Samsung’s new Galaxy Book4 Edge is ultra-thin and light, with a 3K resolution 2x AMOLED display and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. It has a long-lasting battery that provides up to 22 hours of video playback, making it perfect for work or entertainment on the go.
