To analyze the state of the Internet in June, 2014, the Atlantic Media property named Quartz is holding the second in its series of “Next Billion” conferences at the Seattle Art Museum.
When Quartz was launched near the end of 2012, the online population of the world was expected to double by 2016. The founding charter, therefore, is to explore how the next billion online users (and the next billion after them), who are coming online mostly in emerging markets and via mobile devices, are changing the nature of the internet and the businesses that grow on it.
The second conference, in the Seattle Art Museum, focuses on some of the technologies and strategies that are helping companies and people around the globe navigate this increasingly connected world. The program features today’s brightest minds from Twitter, Mozilla, IDEO, and more, as well as a special interview about internet.org with executives from Facebook and Ericsson. E
