5×7 Building Paper prototypes, Lean Startup Seattle
When: Monday, April 7, 2014, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Where: SURF Incubator, 821 Second Ave. 8th Floor, Seattle
What: Frequently, entrepreneurs are hard at work on their project. When you ask them if they have talked to any customers, they say “No, I have not finished my prototype yet”. It is possible to talk to potential customers before you have a prototype. This is precisely what you need to do in the Customer Discovery phase as you explore the problems that people have. But in the Customer Validation phase, you would like to hone in on the issues and features that the customers believe will solve the problem that they have. Many people want to have a working prototype fully coded at this point.
However, this is wasteful. In our effort to do startups in a less wasteful way, we want to find ways to test questions quickly. One path to doing very early testing is to use 5×7 cards to map out the user experience and to walk thru the process that gets a customer to yes.
This LSS event will be a workshop focused on methods for very early prototyping so that you can run your experiments to test your riskiest assumption (RAE – Riskiest Assumption Experiment)
Bring an idea or problem you would like to explore and we will engage in developing small simple Riskiest Assumption experiments.
