What: Much of the data that we need to analyze is stored in databases. SQL is a powerful but reasonably simple tool for retrieving data from databases. This class will take those new to SQL, or those who need a refresher, through the basics of retrieving data from databases. Students will access large real world databases and retrieve the data they want.

Prereqs & Preparation
Students should bring a laptop to be able to access databases and learn with the hands on exercises in class
Students will need to create a Google developers account prior to class. This is a simple thing to do and instructions will be sent out prior to class.
While some prior basic experience in SQL is helpful, students brand new to SQL will be able to learn these aspect of retrieving data with SQL without prior knowledge
