AR/VR for (Outer) Space Training: Spacewalks, Launches, and Maintenance

How do leading space exploration and science organizations, such as SpaceX and NASA, train astronauts using virtual and augmented reality? How will the future of space travel involve virtual reality, as the final frontier moves into commercialization?

From simulated moon landings to space walks, teams around the world use immersive technologies to prepare their astronaut teams for space travel

This virtual event (meeting link password below) will revolve around XR training practices, in addition to exploring other use cases for virtual reality, such as mid-flight entertainment. Diving into the software and hardware used for space training simulations, we will discuss core learning objectives for astronaut workflow and task training, and the advantages and constraints of using immersive technologies as learning tools.

The first half of this event will kick off with a presentation on XR in the space race. The second half will consist of breakout rooms for virtual networking.
