Who: Meet Elson S. Floyd, President of Washington State University, the state’s original and largest land-grant university. Under Floyd’s leadership, WSU serves 23,500 students across four campuses and online, employs 5,800 faculty and staff, and has annual revenues of $1.2 billion. Floyd previously served as president of the four-campus University of Missouri system and of Western Michigan University. Since coming to WSU in 2007, Floyd established the School for Global Animal Health and the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, and has been recognized as one of the state’s most dynamic leaders. Last year, Floyd was tapped as a key advisor to Governor Inslee’s transition team.
