Let’s talk about what is Azure Storage and deep dive into the Azure File Storage offering. Azure File Storage offers fully managed file shares in the cloud using the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol, which is the predominantly used file share protocol for on-premises Windows use cases. Azure Files can be mounted from any client OS that implements the SMB versions supported by Azure Files. Azure Files enables moving to cloud by using all the existing skills that were acquired when managing on-premises storage.
In the world where we are rapidly moving to cloud and enterprises are making big bets of moving the on-premises application and infrastructure to cloud, agility is the key. We will demo how to lift and shift your apps from on premise quickly. We will go over some basics of Azure Files, sample use cases and best practices.
