ElasticLinq: Bringing the Power of LINQ to NoSQL for .NET Developers, CloudTalk
When: Tuesday, May 13, 2014, 6:30 PM
Where: Bellevue City Hall, 450 110th Avenue Northeast, Bellevue
What: Coding for cloud scale often forces developers to consider replacing their relational SQL-based data storage systems with NoSQL systems that can easily scale across multiple VMs and data centers. Most .NET developers targeting relational data stores today use LINQ to SQL or Entity Framework, both based on Language Integrated Query (LINQ) language feature introduced in .NET 3.5. Using ElasticLinq allows developers to leverage their existing LINQ skills and code to query data stored in Elasticsearch, a NoSQL object storage system that combines the search power of Lucene with flexible and easy high availability.
In addition to showing ElasticLinq’s basic usage with Elasticsearch, Brad Wilson will also show how users can add Couchbase to combine its cross-data center replication with the lightning fast search and retrieval of Elasticsearch.
Who: Speaking is Brad Wilson, a Technical Director at CenturyLink Cloud, which uses Elasticsearch and Couchbase as foundational components that help their software scale across more than 10 data centers worldwide. Brad has 21 years of professional software experience as a developer, team lead, and CTO, including 7 years at Microsoft on teams like ASP.NET and CodePlex.
