Join Seattle Women of Design & UX for a panel discussion with design experts from Mixpanel, HBO, Oculus / Facebook AR/VR, and Mindhatch. We will discuss all things data—from when to use qualitative vs. quantitative feedback, using data to help get approval for your designs, to introducing the value of research/data into your company. This panel of diverse perspectives will help you gain insight into how to use data to enhance design, whether you’re looking to break into UX or you’re a seasoned professional.
There will be plenty of time to mingle prior to the event and afterward. Drinks and snacks will be provided. This event is hosted by Jess Chaidez at the Mixpanel office in Downtown Seattle. This is an inclusive event and open to all!

MEET OUR SPEAKERS!
*Jess Chaidez*
Jess is currently a Senior Product Designer at Mixpanel. She specializes in designing for Enterprise and Analytics software and enjoys the challenge of helping people find clarity and answers in data. After starting her career as a Graphic Designer at PitchBook Data, Jess transferred into the UX field upon realizing she was more interested in designing products than creating collateral that advertises them. She fully believes alternative career paths into UX and other principles of Tech strengthen the industry and make the products we build more accessible to others. Jess is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and was one of the founding members of WIN — PitchBook’s first affinity group focused on empowering women.
*Coonoor Behal*
Coonoor Behal is Founder & CEO of Mindhatch, which helps companies and organizations get better results with creativity. Mindhatch helps:
1) Solve complex business problems and design products, services, and experiences customer love using our design thinking expertise
2) Staff stay engaged and do their work better through our organizational improv programs; and
3) Companies come to strategic decisions and embrace organizational change and innovation through our facilitation work.
In her spare time, Coonoor performs improv comedy, volunteers for progressive causes, sits on the board of Street Entrepreneurs, and loves on her Bernese Mountain Dog, Nikka.
*Allison Saville*
Allison has been thinking about the connection between communication, data, and impact since she was a wee teen reading Scientific American. Eventually, that thread would be picked back up and pull her from lab-based science studies and into the realm of philosophy of mind and language, cognitive and behavioral studies. Using social science methods to learn about education policies, Allison saw again the effect of research lacking impact and dove back into data visualization, finding UX Research while at UW’s UCD program. Now at HBO, Allison loves working with cross-functional teams using mixed methods in asking questions and using data in answering those questions, telling the user story.
*Chelsea Klukas*
Chelsea Klukas is a Product Design Manager at Oculus / Facebook AR/VR leading the design team defining the future of work and productivity.
Klukas is also a founder of MakeFashion and Lumen Couture, wearable technology startups that brings high tech and high fashion to the runway. Her “Lumen Couture” projector hat, a hat that includes real-time projection mapping and visual inputs to display video on a dress, has gained international attention as the first of its kind.
Prior to Facebook, Klukas was a UX Design Manager at Amazon focused on social consumer innovation products including Amazon Spark and Echo Look. Before Amazon, she was the Creative Director of BeauCoo, a social shopping startup that used technology to help women find clothes that fit.
