What: With the intensifying labor market competition and increasing workforce complexity, it continues to be a challenge to attract and retain critical talent. The ”war for talent” is increasingly becoming a strategic business challenge and a critical driver of corporate performance. It’s predicted that economic and social forces will continue over the next two decades making the war for talent more critical than ever. It’s more than aggressive recruiting tactics; it’s about making your company uniquely attractive to talent. We will discuss the importance of establishing employment value proposition which includes implementing a total rewards program, creating development opportunities, and building a culture where employees are proud to work. Please mark your calendars to attend this engaging panel discussion.

WTIA’s Executive Women in Technology (EWiT) events provide a vendor-neutral environment for female professionals to connect, build their network, and discuss the latest technology related trends and hot segments. These are invitation-only and participation must be approved by WTIA in advance of the event.

Also presenting at this event is the Ada Developers Academy.

Washington’s economy is fueled by our high tech employers, but the severe shortage of technical talent (20,000 unfilled jobs, and counting) calls for a new approach to meeting our growing workforce needs. To fill the unmet need for software developers and tap into an underserved potential source of new talent, the Technology Alliance launched the Ada Developers Academy (Ada). Ada is a year-long programming training academy for women, comprised of six months of full-time classroom instruction followed by six months of internship. Students graduate with deep core competencies enabling them to transition to careers as successful and productive software developers.
