Finding a Technical Cofounder

April 30, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

VIRTUAL EVENT: Fundamentals for Startups: Finding a Technical Cofounder

Having a tough time as a non-technical person finding a technical cofounder? Want to learn what you’ve been likely doing wrong? Claudius Mbemba, CTO @ useneu.com will share his tips on who you should go after and how to correctly approach a technical person to join you on your startup journey.

Claudius Mbemba (mem’buh) is CTO & CoFounder @ neu (useneu.com) and a speaker and tech entrepreneur who advises early-stage founders and aspiring entrepreneurs using the tips and tricks he’s learned along the way. He has a background in software engineering having previously worked as a top software engineer at Microsoft on Outlook, Cloud, Bots, and Emerging Technologies.

Along with his CoFounder @ neu, Claudius was nominated for the GeekWire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2020) and graduated from the Techstars Seattle Startup Accelerator. Claudius holds a Bachelors in Computer Science from The Ohio State University.

He has a long history and passion for entrepreneurship having started entrepreneurship-focused student orgs, organized Startup Weekends, and founded two startups while he was in college.

Claudius is passionate about raising the number of marginalized people (BIPOC, Women, LGBTQIA+) in Tech & VC by paving the way, holding the door open, and paying it forward. He believes the most important thing to do, is just get started. His personal motto is, “The sooner you start, The sooner you finish.” He even has this tattooed on his arm! And in code, no less!

Fundamentals for Startups is a weekly one-hour lecture series featuring notable experts who share startup-related information, experience, and insights with our entrepreneurial community. From raising capital to scaling to exit strategies, these seasoned guest speakers deliver valuable content designed to help startups and entrepreneurs thrive. Lectures are typically 30-40 mins, followed by open Q&A.

Each lecture is filmed, live streamed and archived on CoMotion’s Startup Training Videos page.

These lectures are open to the public and you do not have to be currently affiliated with the UW or a startup to join. Please register at the link below for access information. We hope you can join us!
