Pete Miller is a CPA and CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) and a shareholder in the audit and assurance practice at the accounting firm of Clark Nuber PS, located in Bellevue. Clark Nuber partners with businesses in a variety of industries and sizes to help them achieve their financial goals. Pete helps reach these goals by providing executive leadership to a number of teams, including the firm’s IT Services team where he supervises a wide variety of security and privacy assessment engagements. He has been a practicing CPA since 2000 and CFE since 2006. When Pete is not working, you can find him playing the drums, hiking, running, or playing with his kids.

Chris Gehrke, CPA | EVP and Chief Administrative Officer | Sound Community Bank
Christina (Chris) Gehrke is Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer at Sound Community Bank. Chris is responsible for human resources, internal audit, Sarbanes-Oxley program, vendor management program, and facilities. Prior to joining Sound Community Bank, Chris was Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting and Administrative Officer for Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle where she was responsible for accounting, financial reporting, data management, compliance, and facilities management. During her career with Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, Chris was responsible for executive management of various operational functions and internal audit department as the Chief Audit Executive.
Chris received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the Ohio State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Seattle University. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Technology Professional, and Certified Management Accountant. In addition, Chris teaches in the graduate MBA and Accounting programs at City University of Seattle. Currently Chris is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at City University of Seattle with a specialization in Accounting and Financial Management. She is passionate about organizational governance and serves on the Washington Society of CPA’s Board of Directors and the Millionaire Club Charity Board of Trustees. Chris is also the citizen representative on the Port of Seattle Audit Committee to ensure public input into audit matters.
Steve Vasconcellos, CPA, CGEIT | Principal, IT Audit and Assurance | Clark Nuber
Steve Vasconcellos is CPA and CGEIT certified and has deep experience in technology governance, risk and compliance. He previously worked as an IT SOX auditor and as a security professional for Ernst and Young. His clients included Microsoft, Nike, Starbucks, T-Mobile and Zillow. He also spent time at Nordstrom, performing advisory services and thought leadership around technology governance, cloud security, DevOps pipelines, product management, portfolio/program management and other enterprise-wide capabilities.
Bar Lockwood, CISA, CISM | Threat Intelligence/ Security Optimization Specialist
Bar Lockwood is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), with deep expertise in threat modeling, intelligence management, security audit and engineering integration, and a broad background in data governance, risk management and compliance. She is a technology industry awards nominated business owner and holds a defensive pre-patent publication with Microsoft on an adaptation of a threat modeling tool for broader use in data tier archiving. In 2005, she injected the first security activities into an international software development lifecycle standard (IEEE-P1074 (2005) Standard for Developing Software Project Lifecycle Processes, compelling adoption in all subsequent international SDLC standards. This work is recognized by theDepartment of Homeland Security. Bar has devoted her a career to exploring the concept of optimal security to empower companies to secure their assets in ways that permit accelerating business objectives. She is currently assisting T-Mobile in meeting its obligations to protect national critical telecommunications infrastructure.
Jake Bernstein, CISSP | Attorney-at-Law | Du Wors
Jake primarily advises clients on cybersecurity and privacy issues, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework-based managed programs and privacy officer support. Jake has significant experience with laws regulating the collection, storage, and use of private consumer data. Jake also represents companies subject to inquiries, investigations, and actions brought by regulatory agencies, such as state attorneys general and the Federal Trade Commission. He also advises businesses about advertising, marketing, and regulatory compliance, including TCPA and GDPR issues.
Before joining Newman Du Wors, Jake served eight years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division of the Washington State Attorney General’s Office. There, he prosecuted unfair and deceptive business practices including online advertising, negative-option marketing, spam under state law and the federal CAN-SPAM Act, spyware, and consumer-privacy violations. With a background and degree in science, Jake also pursued companies making deceptive health claims. Jake now provides our clients with a practical approach to maximizing effective marketing while mitigating the risk that government regulatory agencies or private plaintiffs will initiate legal action.
Jake graduated first in his law-school class, and served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Barbara Madsen in the Washington State Supreme Court. Jake counsels clients from the perspective of an experienced government prosecutor. Jake also a holds a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) credential from ISC^2.
