What: From Money to Meaning: Making a Career Transition to the Non-Profit Sector
After 12 years in high tech marketing and 17 years helping to mentor and raise funding for hundreds of Seattle-area startup companies, Janis Machala joined Bellevue College as Executive Dean of Corporate and Continuing Education in 2012, reinventing herself as a social entrepreneur.
Participate in a dialogue with Janis about moving from the for-profit technology industry and entrepreneurship, to the non-profit world.
Who: Some of you may know Janis Machala as the “Queen of High Tech” and a “Master Connector” for entrepreneurs and investors in startup companies. As the managing partner of Paladin Partners from 1995 to 2012, she helped hundreds of Seattle-area growth companies succeed with their business strategies and financing objectives. She also co-founded Seraph Capital Forum (a dynamic network of women investing alongside each other), Tacoma Angel Network, and WINGS (the angel network that facilitates seed and early stage investments for medical technology companies in Washington state).
