What: Learn the art of grantwriting to win financial support for your charitable cause. This 5.5-hour intensive grantwriting class will teach participants how to write a grant proposal, research prospects, and build relationships with funders.
Take an in-depth look at each of the grant proposal elements: telling your story, clarifying community needs statements, describing clear goals and objectives, and explaining how the work will be evaluated.
Receive a handbook and digital resources including a list of foundations which provide general operating support, templates for grants calendars, budget templates, grant attachments, and more.
Who: Allison Shirk has been writing grants since 1999 – over fifteen years. She has been a member of the Puget Sound Grantwriters Association since 2003 and on the Board of Directors. She has been a freelance grantwriter since 2006. Allison was formerly the Lead Grants Manager and Development Officer at Catholic Community Services of Western Washington, the largest human services non-profit in Western Washington. Prior to that, she worked in human services at homeless shelters, residential facilities for seriously mentally ill adults, and with child protective services.
