What: React is quickly become the go to choice for UI developers because of it’s straight forward and powerful approach to rendering high performance applications. In this workshop, software engineer (and GA grad) Cody Barrus will guide you through the process of tackling your first React project using tools like Webpack and Babel. This workshop will also serve as an introduction to some powerful concepts introduced into JavaScript through ES6 (aka EcmaScript 6, or EcmaScript 2015). You’ll leave this workshop with ability to create your own React components using the latest tools, and will see why React is becoming a dominant contender in the Front-end Development landscape.
About the instructor
Cody is a developer and graduate of General Assembly. He currently works at Concur building the admin tools which power the Concur App Store. Outside of work he is a dad, published author, kung fu nerd, film geek, comedy fan, and part time outdoor adventurer. In his spare time, he love learning bleeding edge technologies like Electron, GraphQL, React, and whatever else he can get his hands on.
