A startup has to encounter many challenge on its way to success. Once the initial product has been developed, the most significant challenge is to get the first set of users to sign up or pay. Given that the startup doesn’t yet have a brand name, it is not always easy to expand from the initial set of friends and family users. In fact, many of the early users might not be the ideal customer profile and that makes it even harder to expand beyond the initial set.
