A detailed description of each of the topics:

VANITY VS IMPACT METRICS:
If you give smart people a wicked problem and the right metric to measure progress, they will find a solution. You know because you’ve been there: finding the right metric to track is difficult. Leadership looks for a return on investment, team members track work effort. Human beings optimize what they measure, but if you succeed at achieving a vanity metric but fail to deliver the desired outcome, you fail. It doesn’t have to be that way.

STOP INNOVATING AND START GROWING:
It’s likely your company never paused to define what innovation means. It’s also therefore likely, that your company has multiple, disparate innovation efforts underway, and they’re not connected to strategic priorities. You spin up an Innovation lab to create “breakthrough” innovation but must justify the budget every year. Let’s face it. The only way to get long-term buy-in is to drive short-term impact. But how?

In this exhilarating hour-long presentation, Brant will teach us the The 3 E’s of Lean Innovation, and the five ways you can immediately begin driving more impact to the core business.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ORGANIZATION
Be authentic. Have empathy. Empower your teams.
These are spot on. I believe leadership in the 21st century requires these. For sure. But I also have a job to do. I have numbers to hit. But can someone please tell me how I apply this navel-gazing to driving organizational impact?

First, you’re not alone. Second, dealing with uncertainty is a new skill in itself. And third, yes, you get to leverage those “soft skills” above to succeed.
