When: Tuesday, May 2, 2013, 5:30 pm- 9:30 pm
Where: Civilization, 1605 Boylston Avenue, #304, Seattle
What: There is importance in the bits of 1’s and 0’s across data centers, Pantone chips and font books, the renderings, the printed manuscripts, javascript libraries, mood boards, pencils, the paper, process books, coffee makers, reading chairs and potted plants in window sills. Can we find a universal toolkit or single point of origin for a creative’s ideas and executions? Perhaps not. But by studying the spaces and workshops our peers inhabit, we may be able to glean an understanding through simple personal experience. Not in an effort to imitate or recreate the same circumstances, but rather to consider the instruments and context it takes to give birth to ideas and the patience to tell which ones should be thrown out.
See what’s through the doors, behind the curtains and under the sheets at Capitol Hill design studios to get a tad closer to what really is making these creatives tick & tock around the clock producing all that beautiful work.
Then join for an after party at Barça to catch up with anyone you missed.
