When: Wednesday, January 28, 2015, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm
Where: Washington Athletic Club, 1325 6th Avenue, Seattle
What: Gun violence is one of this country’s most frustrating, intractable and devastating public health issues. Since the turn of the century, approximately 500,000 American lives have been lost to gun violence. The number of casualties from firearms in the U.S is nearly 2000 percent higher than the average for all other industrial societies. Despite the urgency suggested by these grim statistics, new gun legislation is still highly controversial and seen as unlikely to pass at either the federal level or in most state capitals.
