Test Focus: ATDD in Practice & Effective SDET, Seattle Technical Forum

What: ATDD is a whole-team approach to software development, applying the ideas of Test-Driven Unit Tests to projects and iterations as a whole. They’ll look at how it brings developers, QA, analysts and stakeholders together, then examine the test automation tool Cucumber’s support for this approach.
Who:
- Kevin Klinemeier has been in software development for nearly twenty years as a developer, team lead, and software architect. His current role as Technical Agile Coach involves short professional courses on agile engineering topics coupled with hands-on coaching for teams looking to transition to Scrum or Lean processes supported by cutting-edge development and testing techniques.
- Jeff Carollo has worked in development and test roles at a wide range of companies. I’m currently a Technical Lead at uTest.com, having built uTests’s AppGrader and Applause.com. Before this, I held engineering leadership roles at Google, working in the centralized testing team, and on projects such as personalized search, Chrome Browser, Chrome OS, Google Toolbar and Google Voice. I also worked on teams at Microsoft including the Distributed File System Replication engine (DFSR.) Along the way, I also held engineering positions with Hewlett-Packard, IBM and NASA. I recently published the book ‘How Google Tests Software’ with co-authors James Whittaker and Jason Arbon. I received my degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University.
