The Consumer is the Patient – Navigating Health Care Roundtable with Marco Daoura

Q&A roundtable discussions are conducted by members of the community to provide opportunities for a small group discussion with subject matter experts.

There are 10 seats at the table for the 90-minute discussion.

Join Marco Daoura for a conversation about the consumer who is now also the patient. This conversation will focus on the consumerization of healthcare, and can include digital health, telemedicine, product development due diligence, software as a service. Topics will include, but are not limited to, startup formation strategies, business plans, funding strategies, ideation and differentiation, development process in a highly regulated industry, product development process, go-to-market strategies, commercialization plans, revenue optimizations, and exit strategies.

Bio:

Marco Daoura graduated from the University of Washington with both a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in BioEngineering with focus on Control Theory and Molecular Biotechnology. He is currently an Innovation Lead Consultant at Premera Blue Cross and remains heavily involved in helping Health-Tech start-ups with how to best take their innovations from ideation to commercialization (I2C), in such a heavily regulated industry. Marco has over 20 years in the healthcare industry from Philips Healthcare to Fujifilm Medical Systems, UltraLinq Healthcare, Novuson Surgical, and consulting with Healthcare companies.

His work in innovation crosses many multidisciplinary areas from technology development, to technology architecture, program management, product services, product management and marketing, and market commercialization. In addition to holding several Health-Tech patents, he has also been responsible for a number of Life Sciences product launches, where he optimizes development and commercialization strategies around six healthcare verticals (Provider, Payor, Patient, Policy, Purchaser and Product Maker) with focus on improving patient outcomes, simplifying provider workflows/protocols, reducing provider/payor cost and waist, and consumerizing healthcare with digital and connected health solutions.

Marco is described as an entrepreneur innovative-strategist who loves to support his community by volunteering at the University of Washington CoMotion program and Seattle CambiaGrove hub mentoring local HealthTech incubators and startups, and co-chairing the technology committee at Keiretsu Investors Forum.
