The Emerging API Economy, WTIA

What: With the maturation of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), the proliferation of mobile devices and applications, and the growing acceptance of cloud services, a new API economy is emerging. How will this economy develop over time? What does the next generation of services look like? What are the implications for technology and businesses? How do companies and the industry position for advantage?

Who: IBM Fellow Kerrie Holley is widely recognized as the man who made SOA real for business. He is an IBM Fellow – the company’s highest technical leadership position – and has served as CTO for IBM Global Business Services. He currently focuses on helping customers identify the business needs and technology capabilities needed to take advantage of service oriented computing and to realize sustained benefits of applying SOA. He is the author of two books: 100 SOA Questions: Asked and Answered and Is Your Company Ready for the Cloud. He holds a BA in mathematics and a JD from DePaul University.
