The Lunch Box @ POP, AIGA

When: Tuesday, August 13, 2013, 11:45AM – 1:00PM

Where: POP, 1326 5th Avenue , #800, Seattle

What: The Business of Inspiration

Advertisers have been producing non-ad materials to sell products for well over a century—from a food manufacturer’s custom-produced cookbook to a software company’s integrated site takeover.

So why is Content Marketing being trumpeted as the new industry savior? This session will discuss the theories behind Content Marketing and explain how this vehicle has become more powerful than ever. And in doing so explore a framework for designing inspiring content that not only moves the proverbial needle, but creates a lasting customer connection as well.

Who: Presenters include:

Tom Moran—Executive Creative Director

As Executive Creative Director, Tom is responsible for defining the agency’s creative vision, selling that vision to clients and implementing the structures and processes that allow his vision to scale across the agency. In his sixteen years of experience in digital marketing, Tom has produced award-winning work for brands like Target, Microsoft, British Airways, BMW Motorcycles, IKEA, Pfizer, Smith Barney and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Prior to joining POP, Tom held creative positions with Agency.com, Deutsch, and Merkley + Partners. Tom’s work has been recognized in the Communication Arts Best of Interactive Annual, FCS Awards, The FWA, WebAwards, The Webby Awards, London International Advertising Awards, and One Show Interactive.

David Buckley—Creative Director

David Buckley is a Creative Director who has crafted award-winning work for brands like Microsoft, Sony, Starbucks, BMW and Michelin. Although a designer by trade, David spends his days delivering strategic creative direction, building and mentoring teams, optimizing and refining internal processes, and driving best-in-class work across a wide array of clients. His work touches every corner of the advertising industry from brand identity to web experiences to social activations to mobile apps. David is a teacher at the School of Visual Concepts – since 2009 he has taught web and mobile design classes. Awards for his work include Webby, W3, Creative Annual, Flash in the Can and the Seattle Show.

Scott Pierce—Senior Content Strategist
