Most know me Alejandra as founder of sheCodesNow.com.
In August, she decided to take a chance & accept a Developer Evangelist role for a really cool startup that wants to improve online tech education for EVERYONE. (As the founder of something like for what sheCodesNow stands, you can probably now understand why she I felt I needed to take a jump & go for this role.)
From Alejandra…
*** FINALLY WHAT YOU WANTED TO KNOW***
(1) What is the purpose of this event?
I had been prepping a course on this topic, and would like to get a group of folks together to brainstorm how to improve my idea. If I can get enough folks to pitch in feedback/critique, I want to add it to my new job’s platform, ‘educative.io’
…Or find potential mates who’d like to co-author it with me… there’s money in it folks! ;-)
That said, if you’d like to come to just learn about a this concept… you should totes come! =]
(2) Will there be snacks?
Pizza & drinks! (We will have vegan options as well.)
(3) Can I bring a 1+ ?
Absolutely.
(4) Will the presentation slides be made available?
Yes, when they are ready, I will make them ready to download via our GitHub repo: http://github.com/Educative-Inc
(5) Is this a programming workshop or a speech or…?
The agenda will be as follows:
– Starts at 6:00 w/ a brief intro of speaker & quick demo of Educative.io’s cool technology.
-At this point, I will unveil the secret project theme for that night.
– I’ll provide a basic overhead of “What really happens when you visit a url? ” (This is something I plan to break down as much as possible, so that even a new coder can understand!)
– Open for discussion on how people would like to take my sample tech presentation/class materials & translate it into a regular Dev Course that I could profit from. $$$ To do this effectively, I plan to take questions from the audience.
– Closing remarks & people are free to stay a bit longer to chat =]
