Position: Senior Marketing Manager, Wireless

What: Amazon Wireless is a rapidly-growing business which is building new services to transform the way customers purchase cell phones, cell phone plans, and wireless accessories. The team is seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to drive demand generation, marketing programs, and website experience to accelerate growth of the business.The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing plan – including traffic generation and site merchandising — for our wireless product line. This requires understanding wireless customer segments and needs at a detailed level, and then establishing the marketing messages and channels to reach those customers effectively.
Responsibilities: The Marketing Manager will also shape fundamental design elements of the website, and ensure that the right voice and high-quality content are maintained. Importantly, the candidate must be able to work at the strategic level (generating bold and innovative ideas for growth) and at the tactical level (managing campaigns with site merchandising tools, analyzing traffic data, and solving problems). The successful candidate must be a passionate advocate for the customer and have a genuine interest in wireless and other consumer electronic products. He or she must also be dedicated to developing a team of innovative, results-driven site merchandisers focused on customer experience and business growth. This position requires close collaboration with technical and business teams within Amazon as well as interaction with external vendors. Therefore, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence with data and logical argument. This role is a central part of the Amazon Wireless team and will have a large say in the day-to-day operations as well as development of the business.
Requirements: 7-10 years of relevant work experience in online marketing, marketing communications, and/or wireless products and services. Proven track-record of delivering online traffic growth from multiple sources including direct, SEO, sponsored links, banner ads, affiliates, and email. Expertise in product marketing strategies especially in the online and wireless markets. Ability to create innovative new marketing programs that generate results. Experience leading small teams, and history of positive teamwork. Superior verbal and written communications skills. Extreme attention-to-detail. Comfort rolling up sleeves to perform quantitative analysis and reach sound conclusions. Facility with Excel (pivot tables) required, and with SQL (basic queries) desired. Strong time-management skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously. Composed, poised and professional demeanor.Familiarity with HTML, XML, Photoshop, and general office software. A bachelor’s degree is required; an M.B.A. is preferred.
