Responsibilities: Create and manage the development and deployment of a range of data collection and management tools and processes for the College-Ready team; collaborate on the development of a multi-year strategy for the strategic use of performance data. Spearhead the development, maintenance and operations of the internal web-based data collection and performance tracking tool, Education Strategy Progress, (ESP). Serve as the United States Program (USP) Service Manager for ESP. Act as the liaison to IT and other internal teams, and articulate the current and long-term program vision for ESP. Refine and oversee a multisource data collection process for acquiring school, district and state data from grantees, third-party sources, and national and federal publicly available sources taking into account feasibility and timing of data collection. Assess and integrate all additional inflow of education data and information for results management purposes into ESP or ensure appropriate system linkages when integration is not feasible. Collaborate with IT to oversee the development and upgrades to ESP to ensure it is developed according to requirements. Articulate and translate business needs into ongoing recommended functionality upgrades to system. Map ongoing evolution of ESP system requirements in alignment with broader college ready results management reporting mechanisms and tools. Manage the development, launch, and ongoing refinement to external data warehouse program, in collaboration with data and evaluation vendors, internal stakeholders, and key grantees; troubleshoot and manage development of data use protocols; enhance user interface and dashboard functionality; spearhead internal Data Council. Launch and manage special projects to enhance the capture, presentation, and use of data/analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements: A bachelors degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience and a background in database management, data analysis, and/or system operations including familiarity with legal and industry standards around acquiring and analyzing education data. A Masters degree in relevant field preferred. Knowledge of public school data reporting requirements (both federal and state), experience using and constructing common student performance metrics. Experience developing and managing web-based data collection and/or reporting systems. Understanding of data systems and database management and how to optimize structures, formats, relationships and integration requirements. Experience in a role requiring collaboration within an organization, as well as the ability to work efficiently and diplomatically, particularly as part of a team effort; vendor/contractor management experience. Demonstrated proficiency using SharePoint, MSWord, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint or related software. Experience with SQL reporting services a plus Proven track record of making and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to establish priorities and maintain attention to detail.
