Position: Kindle Apps Internationalization Program Manager

What: The Amazon’s Kindle team is looking for a world class Technical Program Manager to lead the globalization of all Kindle applications on iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, PC, and Mac.
Responsibilities: You will define globalization strategy and requirements across our platforms, establish localization processes and best practices, and own end to end delivery. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and product strategy. Excellent listening, writing skills and strong technical competency are essential.
Requirements: The ideal candidate is a creative, demonstrated leader with exceptional track record in launching mission critical products in international markets, with proven ability to partner across business, marketing, testing and development. Qualified candidates have deep expertise in internationalization and localization, experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets; as well as analyzing cost/benefit of feature selection and communicating results throughout the organization.
Knowledge of the following is required; at least 5 years of Globalization/Localization experience; product development (including C++, Java, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services), build processes, project management, release schedules. Experience with iOS and Android SDKs is preferred. The ideal candidate will have 8 or more years of relevant work experience in internet-related project and/or technical product management in a software applications environment. An undergraduate degree in computer science or a related technical discipline is preferred.
