Responsibilities: Manage the SPU website as the University’s online face to visiting audiences
assist in establishing institutional protocols, guidelines, and standards for the SPU website
supervise a web communications team, including 5-7 staff members manage the UC web communications team’s interaction with campus clients oversee the implementation, management, and maintenance of the campus Sitecore content management system serve as an interface with external web vendors
collaborate with CIS to make the best use of campus technical capabilities research and recommend new web technologies
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, or related field three to five years of progressively responsible experience as a web communications manager, web communications specialist, web publisher or editor, or web marketer demonstrated professional experience and skill in marketing/communications; web editing and writing; and copy-editing experience in client relations and in leading a team of at least 5-7 people –– and managing the work flow for a team of this size
a strong understanding and experience in institutional and/or corporate branding, a sensitivity to outstanding design and an understanding for the web design process ability to create effective partnerships/collaborations within the department and across the University excellent relationship skills
an affinity for accuracy and detail effective resource management skills knowledge of HTML 5, CSS 3, W3C standards, Web Accessibility Standards, Section 508 requirements, mobile applications, best practices for the web, and current trends in web design and technology familiarity with mass email online applications, and analytics tools commitment to SPU’s Christian vision and the ability to articulate it
Preferred: Education, even informal, in web design leadership experience in a university communications environment or comparable experience with front-end coding such as Javascript; back-end programming skills such as .ASP, ASP.NET, C#, or XML; or computer graphics tools such as Photoshop and InDesign
experience with enterprise-level content management systems (SPU uses Sitecore) experience with a project management software (UC uses Basecamp).
