Position: Web Team Manager/Senior Developer

We are presently seeking a Web Services Manager to be responsible for both managing the development/support team for Virginia Mason’s public and internal websites and will also fill the role of senior web developer. This manager will assist in adopting and implementing new technologies, project planning and execution, resourcing, managing 3rd party consultants and developing web strategies working with peer managers across information systems, corporate communications and clinical operations.
Responsibilities:
• Manage, organize, and oversee the daily operations and activities of the Web team comprised of developers, designers and support resources.
• Assign and manage new development tasks and projects via project and issue tracking system.
• Design and development of web application to support business and clinical needs.
• Understand and work within the methodology of the SDLC, recommend process improvements.
• Support capacity planning functions to ensure infrastructure supports growth.
• Work and coordinate with peer information systems manager, clinical operations and corporate communications on all aspects of development as needed.
• Interact and coordinate with third party vendors, consultants and business partners.
• Management duties include the supervision of assigned staff. This includes but is not limited to, conducting performance evaluations, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, conducting performance improvement plans, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions.
• Provide training, mentoring, and coaching with staff as required.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• BS/BA or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years previous experience in a web development environment.
• 2+ years previous experience as a technical manager.
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft SharePoint and .Net technologies.
• Excellent communication, management and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and make timely decisions.
• Experience with using and implementing SDLC processes (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
• Experience with reporting productivity metrics and KPI’s around production support and project work.
• Experience with project management processes and tools.
