What:  John L. Scott Real Estate, a leader in residential real estate, is seeking a highly qualified Marketing Communications Manager, an enthusiastic self-starter, with integrated marketing communications experience (PR, corporate communications, internet strategy, direct marketing, and digital marketing/social media).
Responsibilities:

Job duties may include but not be limited to:

Communications/PR/Media Relations:
• Manages/oversees all direct internal communication support materials to the broker associate community promoting John L Scott programs.
• Manages company local public relations for corporate and affiliates offices including: Grand opening press releases, Community service press releases and Corporate announcements
• Manages all media relations in WA, OR, ID – with an emphasis in social media
• Pitches story ideas to the media to generate company public relations on a local/national level
• Prepare press materials including news releases, blog posts, fact sheets, editorial briefings, media pitches, background documents, and other special projects as requested. Research information and ensures all press materials are accurate and prepared as necessary.
• Proactively manage media relations to establish first person relationships with industry influencers to develop story ideas and share information helpful in garnering media coverage and online visibility for the company.
• Setup and development of effective, secure and timely data communications to, from and between partners internally and to the end-user through multiple communication vehicles
• Edit/Review all weekly Residential Operations updates
• Draft/Edit Internal communication for President and CEO
• Respond to press “call for information” with quick turnaround times

Social Media:
• Manages Social Media community channels including: blogs, forums, twitter, facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, podcasts, videocasts, etc.
• Manages corporate content on JohnLScott.com
• Establish updates to keep the Marketing Dept apprised of industry news discussed through social media
• Creatively expand the company brand through social media

Qualifications:
• Advanced knowledge of PR and media relations experience
• Advanced knowledge of social media channels
• Advanced writing skills including marketing copy and writing for the web
• Technical marketing skills in social media and viral marketing
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to simplify complex or confusing information and easily “connect the dots”.
• Proven project management skills and ability to swiftly prioritize workload and multiple deadlines
• Creative thinker, able to tell compelling stories that will connect with the audience in a fresh, yet relevant way.
• Able to adeptly convey the company brand through multiple communications, digital media and social media channels
• Able to work with all people and in a highly collaborative environment
• High level of discernment to handle sensitive and confidential situations wisely
• Able to interface and influence at all levels, including those in executive positions
• Experience in a fast growth, highly competitive environment
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, demonstrated proficiency using social media analytic tools and Digital Marketing programs such as Constant Contact

Education and/or Experience: 
• BA or BS degree and 5+ years of PR agency and/or in-house Marketing Communications/PR experience
• 2 – 5 years experience in real estate desirable
